Working with Established Projects

The essential workflow for working with existing projects is the same as Initiating projects

To work with established projects the workflow differs in 2 key ways.

  1. Downloading Media from the server
  2. Importing / Loading media into Cinelerra.

For all other processes, such as saving and updating the server, use Initiating projects

As with New projects, it is essential to keep ALL your files in the same folder. This can be an existing folder (such as filesystem/DTV/dtvtest) or directory but again it is good practise to establish a directory.


[edit] Downloading Media

  1. Find the .xml file at http://watch.deptford.tv/.
  2. Click Get Files button.
  3. This lists all the media files related / listed in the .xml file.
  4. Click download- this will download all the files in a tar file to your folder.
  5. Unpack the tar file in the folder / directory

[edit] Importing / Loading Media

  1. Open up Cinelerra
  2. Again, go to File: Load Files...
  3. Choose the downloaded .xml file
  4. Click on the Insertion Strategy
  5. Choose Replace Current Media
  6. This will open up the full project in Cinelerra including all the media files.
